Major Storm in Indonesia has beached a service ship with 35 people on board.
Mengkara drifted ashore on the cast of Barru Regency, South Sulawesi, Makassar Strait on the 1st February.
The ship was travelling from Makassar Port to Parepare, North of Makassar, when she was caught by the storm.
The ship’s captain is reported to have said there were problems with the ship’s engine so it was safer to beach the vessel.
All people on board, including 5 passengers, have been returned safely and no injuries have been reported.
Makassar Strait is a strait between the islands of Borneo and Sulawesi in Indonesia.
