Pregnant Woman Among Passengers Shot By Pirates

A pregnant woman is one of two passengers that were shot during a pirate boarding in Bayelsa State, Nigeria.

The passenger boat was attacked by armed pirates on the 8th March whilst underway to the Koluama creeks. The pirates boarded the vessel, before firing at the passengers, injuring two. They then stole personal belongings from the passengers and a 200 horsepower engine from the boat.

The passengers were safely rescue and taken to the nearby village of Koluama II for treatment.
