A video has been released of the wreckage from TS Taipei being removed from the sea off the coast of Taiwan.
Royal Boskalis Westminster has shared the video of the containership that was grounded offshore Shimen in 2016.
The ship experienced engine failure en route from Taiwan’s Keelung to Taichung.
TS Taipei was loaded with 384 containers when severe weather conditions caused the ship to split in two.
The shipwreck was removed in August 2016, but the video has only just emerged.
At the time SMIT Salvage team discharged the remaining containers and lifted the accommodation block and main engine from the wreck.
Following the wreck removal operation, the bow section of the vessel was towed to the dry dock where TS Taipei was dismantled.
