Two Ukrainian nationals have died and there has been a possible third unconfirmed fatality on board the Atlantic Harmony Bulk Carrier.
The bulk carrier was sailing from Brazil to Gibraltar when it stopped at Cape Verde on 7th May to collect some additional supplies. It continued on the assigned route, but had to turn back on 8th May and return to anchor on Praia Anchorage.
It has been reported that the ship returned to Cape Verde due to the deaths onboard, which are currently thought to be due to poisoning.
No further details on the incident are available, but as of 1700 UTC 10th May the ship was still at anchorage.
