The ‘Stone 1’ product tanker suffered technical trouble whilst conducting loading operations from a floating oil pipe reducer in the Barents Sea, Russia on 6th July.

The tug ‘Atriya’ was sent to assist the tanker, as crew onboard thought the vessel was at risk of complete power loss. However, the towing operation was hindered when the tow wire snapped and fouled the tug’s propeller and rudder.

The tug did manage to re-establish the towing connection and the tanker was once again in operation by 8th July.
