Authorities in Panama found 208 packages of drugs in the ventilation system of a containership in Panama on Saturday 5th May.

The Liberian registered vessel, Celina Star, was docked in Colon, Panama when the discovery was made. 

The Panamax containership was detained as part of a joint inspection conducted with National Aeronaval Service (Senan). 

The contraband was discovered in the ship's ventilation system. 

An investigation has been launched but at this point no arrests have been made. 

The 2001 built ship was en route from Buenaventura, Columbia to Algeciras, Spain when it was stopped by authorities. 

The boxship has since been released and is on its way toward Spain. It is due to arrive on 15th May 2018.
