The Fiji registered ‘Winner19’’ has finally been refloated, having run aground off the Coast of Southern Taiwan after getting caught in a tropical low-pressure system over two weeks ago.
As previously reported by ARX Maritime, all crew members on board were safely evacuated when the vessel issued a distress call, but attempts to rescue the vessel have so far proved unsuccessful.
Oil tanker, Shine Luck which was also grounded in the storm has since split in two having been blown against concrete wave-breaks near the entrance of a fishing port.
Winner19 has now successfully been brought to anchor at Kaohsiung Anchorage with the assistance of tug boats and use of the high tide.
