A Maersk Line containership has been drifting in the North Pacific for almost 10 days after suffering engine failure. 

Denmark Flagged, Sofie Maersk was travelling from Mexico to Korea when it ran in to problems.

Initial reports indicated that the vessel would be towed to Honolulu by tug boats, where she would undergo repairs.

As of 1530 UTC the vessel was still awaiting aid.
