The Cosco owned, Chinese-flagged General Cargo Vessel, DA XIN collided with the Tuvalu-flagged Container Ship, DIYALA during the afternoon hours of October the 21st, while attempting to berth at Pakistan’s Karachi Harbour.

The incident occurred at approximately 01:40 hours in the afternoon. The Da Xin struck berth 25, bounced off the pier and collided with the Diyala which had been berthed nearby, at berth 26.

According to initial reports, both vessels suffered damage during the collision, but the pier took the brunt of it.

A statement by the Karachi Port Authority suggests that both vessels are in good condition.

No sailors were injured during the collision and there's been no sign of oil pollution following the incident.

As of the morning of October the 22nd, both vessels still remain berthed at the port of Karachi.
