Traffic has been severely disrupted in the Dong Nai River, Vietnam, after a general cargo ship crashed in to a bridge. Royal 09 fell victim to high tide, dragging her anchor upstream and causing her to drift.

The crew were unable to stop her drifting and the vessel collided with the bridge in Northeast Ho Chi Minh at 1620 ICT today.

All traffic was forced to stop for over an hour as the ship's stern was removed from the bridge.

3 tugs came to assist the ship and brought her to anchor. Nobody was injured in the incident. The bridge sustained some damage and traffic has now been resumed.

General cargo ship ROYAL 09, IMO 9560807, dwt 2368, built 2011, flag Vietnam, manager Royal Maritime JSC, Haiphong.
