The body of the missing master of bulk carrier MV Evnia has now been recovered from the water at Chittagong Port.

Capt. Marcupolos Vasileos, a 57 year old Greek Citizen who was employed as the master on board the Cypriot bulk carrier was originally reported as missing when he fell from the pilot ladder whilst checking the draft. The incident occurred on Mon 4th June as the MV Evnia arrived from China.

A rescue operation was launched immediately by the coast guard and port team with the Harbour Master Capt. Zahirul Islam confirming that Chittagong port would use all their rescue operations and resources.

The MV Evnia is currently berthed at Jetty 7, Chittagong port with around 28458 metric ton of steel pipe and equipment on board.
