Seafarers are being warned to be extra vigilant when transiting through the Gulf of Oman, after suspected pirates approached a merchant vessel there this morning.

ADVISORY NOTICE 001/JUL/2018 - SUSPICIOUS APPROACH

  1. Description: On 04 JUL 2018 at approximately 09.50UTC a Merchant Vessel in position: 24 02 02N 059 55 38E (SOH) reported being approached at speed by 2 white hulled small craft with 4 POB each. The closest point of approach on the Merchant Vessel was 500m. The crew and vessel are safe.
