Container Ship Fire Injures 5 in North Pacific

A fire broke out on a container ship, leaving 2 with serious injuries and 3 others with burns.

Mol Prestige was en route from Vancouver, Canada, to Tokyo, Japan, when the fire broke out in the engine room.

2 people are seriously injured and 3 others others endured burns following the incident. They were medevaced by helicopter to the nearest hospital.

The fire has been extinguished, and the container vessel has been disabled, waiting to be towed to the nearest port.

This morning the ship was in vicinity 52 20N 136 56W, some 190 nm west of Graham Island, drifting in northern direction.
